Notes for Frederick A. Slade

[slade.FTW]
In the 1880 census the family is living in the Town of Guilford. The children match and the ages match but the head of the household is Isaac Slade. However the obituary of Herbert Slade states his father was Frederick Slade.
Death of F.A. Slade clipping copy at Gilbertsville Library, Gilbertsville, NY
Frederick A. Slade aged 61 years died very suddenly at his home on River St at 11:30 Tuesday morning. The cause of death was heart trouble. During the early part of the forenoon Mr. Slade was about the streets apparantly in his ususal health. He went home shortly after 11 and complained of severe pains in the left side. Dr. McKinnon was passing and was called in, but before he reached Mr. Slade the latter was dead..
Deceased was born in the Town of Butternuts, Otsego County. For many years he resided on a farm near Mt.Upton. About three years ago he with his family moved to Sidney. Mrs. Erway of Norwich, a daughter of Mr. Slade, came to visit her parents on New Year's day. She would have reurned home Monday but remained longer at the request of her father. Whivh seems a strange coincidence as his death was the next day and so sudden. deceased is survived by a widow, three sons: Bert of this place, Charles and Albert of Scranton, and two daughters Mrs. Erway of Norwich and Miss Slade who resides at home. The funeral was held from the home on River St. at 11 o'clock this forenoon. Rev. Barrett officaiting. Burial at Mt Upton.
