In the 1880 census Henry Varnell is the head of the house. He is 90 years old and widowed. He is still listed as a farmer. With him are daughter Janet age 61, and twins Emily and Henry E. age 46. Henry is a farm laborer. Henry was born in New York, his father born in Rhode Island, and mother born in Connecticut. The family lives in Thompson, Sullivan County, NY. Their is a discrepancy with the twin's ages. The census would place them born in 1834 whilke the cemetery listing done by Gertrude Barber says 1823. I need to check the cemetery myself.
