State of Iowa, In the matter of proving the last Will and Testament of S.A. Bagley deceased, as a Will of his estate. Examination of Witnesses, Sworn and examined in the above entitled matter.
The State of Iowa, Cedar County, ss: S.L. Smith, of Cedar Co., being duly sworn as a witness in the above entitled matter, on behalf of the applicant to prove said will, says: I was acquainted with S. A. Bagley now deceased, for fifteen years before his death. The subscription of the name of the said deceased to the instrument now shown to me, and bearing date the 9th day of May, 1873, was made by him at that date, in presence of myself, G.W. Smith the other subscription witness, and that we signed said will as witnesses at his request, and in his presence, and that said, S.A. Bagley declared said instrument to be his last will and testament. The said deceased, at the time of executing said instrument, was upwards of the age of seventy five years, and of sound mind and not under any restraint. Signed. S. L. Smith on the 14th day of February,, 1874
