The Nimmicks came to America from Radomischel, Russia on Ma y 15, 1902. They boarded the ship Garf Waldersee in Hambur g, Germany. Reinhold was 27 years old, Anna was 23 years o ld, August was 2 years old, and Edward was 9 months old. H e had $68 in his pocket when they boarded the ship. His oc cupation was listed as farmer.
They stayed at Ellis Island for 12 days, then traveled to C reston, Union County, Iowa where Reinhold worked on the rai lroad for 1 year before moving to Fingal, North Dakota. Re inhold had $17 in his pocket when the family arrived in Cre ston.
