JAMES OLIVER MOREHEAD IS DEAD, AGED 82
Former Bullion Vicinity Farmer; Services Friday Funeral services for James Oliver Morehead, 83, of 714 S. Fifth, who died Wednesday afternoon in a Kirksville hospital will be held at the Dee Riley Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksville with
burial in Bullion Cemetery. Mr. Morehead was the son of DeWitt Clinton and Kathryn (Hulse) Morehead and was born July 17, 1879 in Lexington, KY. He was married to May Ford Morehead March 27, 1907 in Kirksville and to this marriage six children were born.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Miss Irma Lee Morehead, of the home; Mrs. Mable Karaff, Kirksville, and Mrs. K. A. (Bessie) Cleveland, Brookfield; two sons, Dr. Robert L. Moorehead, Flatonia, TX and Dr. William DeWitt Morehead, Raytown;
two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Eckhart, Woodward, OK and Mrs. Myrtle Haddix, Lexington, KY; three brothers, Thomas Morehead, Dayton, OH, Dudley Morehead, Independence, and Clarence Morehead, Stanton, KY; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Morehead was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three sisters and four brothers.
He had lived in Kirksville for the past seven years. Previous to this time he had lived on a farm in the Bullion communiity south east of Kirksville.
Bearers will be George Zeigler, Leonard Thompson, Floyd Wright, Willie Bennett, Truman Swingle, and Ora Vaughn.
